About Katja

Born and raised in Ljubljana, Slovenia, my journey began on the dance floor. I was technically trained and spent over a decade competing at the highest levels—earning European and World Championship titles with my team. While I always strived for more, what truly stayed with me wasn’t the medals, but the discipline, focus, and relentless work ethic that dance demanded.
After attending a high school for professional athletes, I became fascinated with the human body and movement. That curiosity led me to New York City in 2009, where I pursued my professional dance career. In just five years, I had the privilege of performing on Broadway, working alongside top talent in the industry and starring in a residency as an Almost Angels showgirl at Atlantic City’s Taj Mahal.
In 2013, I made the decision to step away from the stage. Transitioning into the fitness industry felt natural—my passion for movement simply evolved. I started as a floor trainer at NYSC and quickly climbed the ranks to become a fitness manager. Eventually, I led a team of 40 personal trainers at one of Equinox’s flagship clubs in NYC, honing both my leadership and business acumen.
After years in the U.S., I returned to Slovenia in 2021 for a short break. During that time, I collaborated with the Olympic Committee of Slovenia, mentored young athletes and professionals, and launched my own business as a distributor of the Australian supplement brand NUZEST.
Still, I missed the energy of America. In 2024, I moved back—this time settling in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Currently, I’m the Director of Training at Alloy Personal Training studio in Boca Raton, where I’m surrounded by a passionate team of coaches and driven to elevate our service, results, and team culture every day.
In my free time, you’ll find me exploring new restaurants, discovering hidden gems of the city or enjoying the Florida sun with my Afghan Hound by my side.
You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
